Making an Amazing Wedding Announcement

There are several ways to announce your wedding, the most traditional to be with an advert in a local newspaper. If you are going to do this you need to choose a paper that is published in the area you and your partner live for it to be the most effective. There are other ways could you let people know you have got married though, and social media has become the most popular.

Social Media

Many people favor announcing their wedding on social media as they can show lots of images and videos too. After sending out luxury wedding invitations, and having an amazing day, often guests will be posting their photos too as they wish the happy couple a great future together.

Some couples wait until they have the official photographs, which these days with digital photography is not very long after the wedding takes place.

This will usually happen either on the day of the wedding or a few days after. It can be the way that many people see the wedding announcement that would not have seen it otherwise. This is because the practice of buying newspapers, even local ones, has diminished greatly and that is no longer the way if you want a lot of people to see your announcement.

Contact People Directly
There can be many reasons why your wedding is kept small and does not include lots of people you would have liked to be there. Then some couples opt for direct contact with a card or note informing some people that the wedding has taken place, and saying sorry we had to keep it small and could not invite everyone we wanted to.

What Should The Announcement Include?

This really comes down to how much information you want to give. Sometimes the photographer will make a video, which starts with the date of the marriage and the names of the happy couple. In years gone by it was tradition to also include the names of parents and sometimes even grandparents, but this is not done so often now.

Where the wedding took place and where the reception was held is also information that is usually included in the announcement.

Any announcement does not have to be formal. It can be as conversational as you wish. It was your wedding after all, and how you choose to announce it is up to you.

Right And Wrong Ways To Announce A Wedding

There is no longer any right or wrong way to announce a wedding, it is entirely up to you. Some people do not bother at all on the basis that anyone they wanted to know would have been there anyway.

If you want to let everyone know the good news though, you should do it in whatever way suits you best. Whether that is by taking an advert in a newspaper, posting it on social media or by contacting people directly. The most important thing is that you and your partner know it has happened and that the day was everything you wanted it to be.
