Your Kitties Litter Box Health

May 14, 2019

Hey y'all! I hope you guys are having a great week. Today we are addressing fur babies...namely kitties. How often do you clean your kitties litter box? That's a dirty job that many of us don't enjoy! Our family is very blessed to own a self-cleaning or automatic littler box so we pretty much need to fill it with litter and dump the drawer when it full. I'll admit it, we are spoiled, I don't think we could ever go back to scooping again.

Did you know that the best way to avoid litter box issues is finding the right litter that will keep both you and your kitties happy and comfortable? There are so many different kinds of litter out there, how do you pick the right one for your kitties litter box health?

For our 3 cat family, we have found that a clay-based litter like Fresh Step Triple Action Scented Clumping Cat Litter from Chewy.com works the best. It offers these key benefits:
  • Helps stop the growth of bacterial odors and helps combat litter box odors.
  • Ammonia Block Technology, activated charcoal, and plant extracts help trap and eliminate litter odors from urine, feces, and bacteria for up to 10 days of odor control.
  • Low-dust formula allows you and your kitty to breathe easy while the paw-activated fragrance releases every time your cat uses her litter box.
  • Features ClumpLock technology that helps absorb liquid, forming tight clumps for easy scooping and no crumbles.
  • This litter is designed with your BFF’s health and happiness in mind.

We find that Fresh step works amazingly in our automatic litter box. It clumps well and seems to use the least amount of product when doing so, that means we need to add litter less often. With 3 kitties we end up emptying their litter drawer every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks at the most. That, in turn, means big savings for our family. It also helps control litter box odor, and with 3 kitties that can get out of control quickly.
