Seagate’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Xbox Game Drive

December 12, 2019

Do you have a gamer on your holiday shopping list? Does that gamer also happen to be a Star Wars fan? About 2ish years ago both of my boys received the 1 terabyte Xbox ones for Christmas. I personally would have guessed that 1 terabyte of storage would last them forever and a day. Boy, was I ever wrong! 1 terabyte is roughly equal to around 25 games being stored...not really that much in the gamer scheme of things. Needless to say, my oldest some were thrilled to get the Seagate’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Xbox Game Drive. Not only to have more room for games but also because it looks so cool and DUH STAR WARS...in other words it's extremely cool!

In collaboration with Lucasfilm and Microsoft, Seagate has launched the galaxy’s only external drive made for a Jedi — the latest addition to our popular line of storage for gamers — the “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” special edition Game Drive for Xbox®.

Available for pre-sale today, our newest portable Game Drive offers 2TB of extra hard drive capacity. The collectible “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” themed special edition Game Drive for Xbox features the iconic and imposing Purge trooper character — a specialized class of Imperial soldier trained and equipped to assist the Inquisitors in hunting down Jedi and other Force-sensitive beings who threaten the Empire.
A new Jedi story Star Wars fans and Xbox gamers are itching to play

The “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” storyline is set after the film Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Joining the fight after Chancellor Palpatine issues the noxious Order 66, which started a galaxy-wide purge of the Jedi Order, players take control of Padawan Cal Kestis — one of the last surviving Jedi — as he attempts to survive while being chased by the Galactic Empire and the Second Sister Inquisitor.

On a quest to rebuild the Jedi Order, players will engage in a cinematically-charged lightsaber and Force combat matching the intense action in the films. The game will incorporate iconic Star Wars characters, like Saw Gerrera (portrayed by Forest Whitaker) and fans will recognize many favorite locations, weapons, gear, and enemies, while also meeting a roster of fresh characters, creatures, adversaries and droids as the game introduces brand new storylines into the Star Wars canon.

Helping you jump right into the action, setup of the Game Drive for Xbox is a snap. It’s the only drive whose design, performance and functionality were tested, approved and optimized to pair with your Xbox One console!

Simply plug it into your Xbox One console, and it is instantly recognized and installed through a quick and easy-to-follow setup process. With USB 3.0 speeds, games played from the drive will perform as if they were playing directly from the console’s internal hard drive.

Game Drive for Xbox is small enough to slip into a pocket, does not need a separate power cord and can store more than 501 downloaded games plus downloadable add-ons and achievements for continued gameplay on Xbox One, Xbox One S, or Xbox One X consoles2.
Why you want an external 2TB Seagate Game Drive for Xbox

Xbox One right out of the box is a thing of beauty and a powerful make-my-dreams-come-true machine for console gamers. Part of its beauty is it's built exactly for what it does, and it does it perfectly!

Adding Seagate’s Game Drive for Xbox is just a magnificent bonus, especially for people who really love their games. Xbox One comes standard with a hard drive inside topping out at 1TB. That’s great for keeping your Xbox OS kicking butt and leaves you space to add games, but as every fan knows, all the best games are getting larger — averaging 35-50GB per game install, and even up to 110GB for 4K resolution games!

Some of the internal drive’s storage is also required for game-save data and some more storage for downloadable game content. Well, of course, you can delete old game installs to open room for new games — if you’re done with that game and don’t mind spending the time. But even so, with several games on your system at once, you may be running your hard drive at near top capacity, which may affect performance. And we want performance, right?

Good news: gamers often report a nice performance boost when adding the external drive — so clearly there are too many good reasons to get yourself a Seagate Game Drive for Xbox. And now you can choose a true collectible — the only drive officially licensed by Star Wars, featuring gorgeous game artwork from “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” to match all your other Star Wars gear!

The “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” themed special edition Game Drive for Xbox from Seagate is available for pre-sale now and officially in retail later this month for $99.99. As with all of Seagate’s Special Edition Game Drives, it’ll be available in limited quantities, so be sure to grab one of these collectibles before they’re gone!

  1. The average game capacity of 35-50GB per install. Storage is also required for game save data and downloadable game content.
  2. Requires Xbox Live login from the original game owner.
