BIC Soleil Razor Asks Women #WhyIShave

Have you ever asked yourself...Why I Shave? I know I have along with countless other women everywhere. Well, BIC Soleil is asking us to answer that very question with there #WhyIShave campaign.

  • 88% of women shave for themselves more than anyone else 
  • Millennial women (93%) are the most likely to shave for themselves, but their older Gen X (88%) and Boomer (84%) counterparts aren’t far behind. 
  • More than three in five (61%) women say shaving makes them feel clean, while 42% note its part of their daily grooming routine.
  • Millennials are the most likely to shave for comfort as more than two in five (43%) shave to avoid discomfort. 
  • Millennials (41%) are also more likely to shave because it makes certain clothing more comfortable.
  • After shaving, women feel comfortable (69%), confident (52%), and polished (46%).
  • Women who indicated that they shaved for themselves reported even more satisfaction after shaving than those who didn’t: they feel more comfortable (71% vs 48%), confident (54% v 42%) and polished (47% v 34%). 

The BIC® Soleil® Razor Survey was conducted by Wakefield Research ( among 1,000 nationally representative U.S. women, ages 18+ between July 16 and July 23, 2018, using an email invitation and an online survey. Quotas have been set to ensure reliable and accurate representation of U.S. women, ages 18+.
