 Many of us will have been in this position before. Where you burn the candle at both ends. We can all push ourselves when it comes to work, enjoy times with our families, restaurants etc, and feel like we are not giving ourselves enough of a break. The weekend is the prime time for when this happens the most. Even if it is just staying at home doing household chores we can feel shattered come Sunday evening and wonder how we can muster up the energy for Monday morning. Now more than ever life seems to be tougher than normal. Staying at home is the new going out, but yet by doing so, we can lose motivation and energy. A heavy weekend busy, or a heavy weekend eating too much comfort food and drinking too much. Whatever it is for you, we all need to be able to get back on track to start the week as we mean to go on. With that in mind, here are some of the things that you can try.

Try and get to bed at a decent time on Sunday


This may not always be possible, but if you can, head to bed as early as you can on Sunday evening. This will allow your body some time to recuperate and relax with a good amount of sleep. You may not have given your body much chance for sleep during your weekend antics or perhaps you have been too anxious and had broken sleep. A great tip would be to focus on making Sunday evening a relaxing one. A nice bath, some time away from technology, reading a book and enjoying a warm up caffeinated drink. An early night can work wonders and help you feel recharged. You don’t even have to do this specifically on a Sunday. Any evening you feel like things are catching up with you, change things around and focus on relaxing and getting some sleep. 


Avoid eating too late


Eating too late in an evening can cause more problems for you during the night and the morning after. So on a Sunday afternoon make a conscious effort to eat as early as you can. Don’t be too tempted to fill your body with unhealthy foods and junk. This will only have a bad effect on how you feel come Monday morning. A good example would be to try and eat some of the main food groups. So a balanced meal of protein, vitamins and healthy carbohydrates would be the way to go. Perhaps something like chicken and vegetables. 


Give yourself a boost on a Monday morning


There is nothing worse than those stinging eyes on a Monday morning when your alarm is buzzing in the background. But alas most of us have places to be so you have no choice but to force your body out of bed. However, you can always give your body a little energy boost. The more you plan, the better you will feel. 


Try and be as organised as possible 


If you know you have had a heavy weekend or you have a busy week ahead, then help yourself out by being super organised. This means you could plan your outfits in advance, make your lunch the night before, and set out all of the things you might need for the following day ahead of time. There is plenty that you can do to help yourself. So do it.

6 Ways To Save Money Before Christmas

Christmas is coming up and it will be here before you know it. I always get so insanely stressed about how much money I have to spend before the holidays, so I am gearing up by finding ways to save money (and earn extra money) before the holiday rush gets here. With that being said, let’s discuss ways that I’ve found to save money before Christmas:



Find Extra Jobs

Do you have any skills that you do not currently use at your job? If so, find extra side jobs that will allow you to make extra money and use those skills. For example, if you love children and are great with babies, maybe pick up a few babysitting jobs. If you are great with graphic design, see if you can design some posters, Christmas gifts, or business signs! Small things like walking dogs, painting rooms, pressure washing (if you know how), raking leaves, etc. are also great options. Get creative with your skill set and see what friends, family members, or neighbors are interested!


Sell What You Don’t Need

Think about the influx of gifts that you will have to add to your home very shortly. To prepare, why not get rid of some things that you do not need? Go through your closet, your drawers, your garage, your attic, under your sinks, behind your couches, under your bed(s), and anywhere else where things might be hiding away. Create a pile of things that you want to keep (maybe consider organizing it while you’re at it!!), a pile of things that you want to sell, and a pile of things that you can donate. Selling your old clothes, old kid toys, and even furniture is a fantastic way to make some extra cash before the holiday shopping begins! Don’t just limit it to those things, though. How To Lower Your Anxiety About Going Out In Public

Experiencing anxiety related to the reopening during a pandemic is normal. This is something that most of us (if not all) have never gone through before, so we are all in new territory. Let me say it again: IT IS NORMAL TO FEEL ANXIOUS! There are ways to lower your anxiety, however, and slowly get back to normal life, once you are ready, and that is what I want to talk about today. How do you lower your anxiety about going out in public? Let’s discuss.

Wear A Mask And Bring Sanitizer

First of all, if you are nervous about catching COVID-19 or potentially giving it to someone else, learn about the safety measures that you can take while going out to protect yourself and others against COVID. It is important to learn about what you can do, but also finding out the health and safety measures that your city or businesses are doing to protect their people/customers is important, as well. Two easy steps that you can take to protect yourself and others? Wear a mask and bring sanitizer! Make sure your sanitizer is alcohol-based and preferably, it does not have artificial fragrance in it (that lowers your immune system!).


Stick To Outdoor Spaces

When you are first getting out, it can help your anxiety levels significantly if you stick to outdoor spaces. If you want to go to a restaurant, find a place with a nice, spacious patio. Alternatively, you could order to-go food and have a picnic yourself in a park! Not only would you get to enjoy food that you didn’t make, but you would more than likely have a beautiful setting, as well. Kennesaw Mountain, Piedmont Park, and The Marietta Square are all great options for an outdoor picnic.

Just because other people are starting to go out and your city is beginning (or already) to reopen does not mean that you should feel ready to get back to life before COVID right away. p, or for any other reason at all, it’s more than okay to wait to see how reopening goes before resuming activities in public.


Up Your Immune Health

Last but not least, up your immune health. There are many ways to do this and nothing is “right” or “wrong,” but I personally love upping my Vitamin D (with K2) -- Seeking Health is a great option, whole food Vitamin C (like camu camu), and getting outside more. Don’t forget to also take a vitamin and drink a lot of water + consume healthy foods. Elderberry syrup, such as Sweet’s, is also a great option!
