Heavy Weekend? Here's How To Get Back On Track

October 30, 2020

Many of us will have been in this position before. Where you burn the candle at both ends. We can all push ourselves when it comes to work, enjoy times with our families, restaurants etc, and feel like we are not giving ourselves enough of a break. The weekend is the prime time for when this happens the most. Even if it is just staying at home doing household chores we can feel shattered come Sunday evening and wonder how we can muster up the energy for Monday morning. Now more than ever life seems to be tougher than normal. Staying at home is the new going out, but yet by doing so, we can lose motivation and energy. A heavy weekend busy, or a heavy weekend eating too much comfort food and drinking too much. Whatever it is for you, we all need to be able to get back on track to start the week as we mean to go on. With that in mind, here are some of the things that you can try.

Try and get to bed at a decent time on Sunday

This may not always be possible, but if you can, head to bed as early as you can on Sunday evening. This will allow your body some time to recuperate and relax with a good amount of sleep. You may not have given your body much chance for sleep during your weekend antics or perhaps you have been too anxious and had broken sleep. A great tip would be to focus on making Sunday evening a relaxing one. A nice bath, some time away from technology, reading a book and enjoying a warm up caffeinated drink. An early night can work wonders and help you feel recharged. You don’t even have to do this specifically on a Sunday. Any evening you feel like things are catching up with you, change things around and focus on relaxing and getting some sleep.

Avoid eating too late

Eating too late in an evening can cause more problems for you during the night and the morning after. So on a Sunday afternoon make a conscious effort to eat as early as you can. Don’t be too tempted to fill your body with unhealthy foods and junk. This will only have a bad effect on how you feel come Monday morning. A good example would be to try and eat some of the main food groups. So a balanced meal of protein, vitamins and healthy carbohydrates would be the way to go. Perhaps something like chicken and vegetables.

Give yourself a boost on a Monday morning

There is nothing worse than those stinging eyes on a Monday morning when your alarm is buzzing in the background. But alas most of us have places to be so you have no choice but to force your body out of bed. However, you can always give your body a little energy boost. Taking supplements and vitamins can be just what you need to give your body a boost. Websites like steelsupplements.com have a great selection. Sometimes you just need a little help to get you going. Also ensuring that you try and give yourself the best start to any day by drinking plenty of water or even making yourself a healthy smoothie as part of a balanced breakfast.

Plan your week at your earliest convenience

Getting on track can be all in the planning. If you work out your week with any appointments and errands and plan, then you are already halfway there for being on track. There is no chance of losing precious time if you already know where you need to be and what you need to do. Planning can be done in all aspects of your life. You can sit down and meal plan for the week ahead, write a list of all the things that need to be done, and even create a cleaning schedule so you can keep on top of your home. The more you plan, the better you will feel.

Try and be as organised as possible

If you know you have had a heavy weekend or you have a busy week ahead, then help yourself out by being super organised. This means you could plan your outfits in advance, make your lunch the night before, and set out all of the things you might need for the following day ahead of time. There is plenty that you can do to help yourself. So do it.

Let’s hope these tips help you to get back on track after a heavy weekend.

Your Family Is In Debt, Now What?

October 27, 2020

What do you do when your family is in debt? Firstly, don't panic! You are far from being the only person in this situation. Debt is outrageously common, largely because most people get mortgages. If you have a mortgage, you're in debt as you owe money to the bank. So, there's not always any need to worry if your family is in debt.

Having said that, you most certainly should start taking action. If you ignore the debt and let it linger, then it will become a bigger problem. Here are a few things you can do to stop this from happening:

Source - CC0 License

Set up a debt repayment plan

Regardless of what type of debt you're in, it helps to have a repayment plan. Mortgages automatically come with repayment plans where you make regular payments every month. But, with something like credit card debt or a personal loan, you may not have this luxury. So, you have to set one up yourself.

It's not too challenging; you just need to know how much you can afford to pay every month. This is figured out by looking at your finances and creating a budget. Then, use a site like pigly.com to calculate the repayment. Basically, you can put in different figures, state how much you owe (plus interest) and it tells you when you will clear the debts. Now, you know how much to pay and when your debt will be over!

Prioritize the debt

Put all of your debts above everything else. What I mean is that you focus on paying your debts before you pay for other things. This will mean making some sacrifices, but it's always worth it. Taking this approach also ensures that you pay off debts a lot quicker. Lastly, it can be a good way of avoiding further debt.

Avoid short-term fixes

Never opt for a short-term fix to get rid of your debt. The obvious one that springs to mind is a payday/short-term loan. Things like this will lure you in by offering all the money you need to clear your debts straight away. The crux is that they have staggeringly high-interest rates, making this loan cost way more than the original debt you owed. So, you're back in the same situation, only with more debt!

Find professional debt help

If none of the previous tips help, you may benefit from professional debt-relief advice and guidance. You'll find lots of debt-relief services online, so pick whichever one has the best reviews. Here, you tend to get guidance from financial experts that walk you through the various debt solutions. This can mean debt consolidation loans, debt restructuring, or even bankruptcy. They'll tell you which one works best for you and will help you through the entire process.

Adhere to these steps if your family is in debt. Remember, it's not the end of the world, and you don't have to panic. Most people are in debt at some point, and not all debt is bad! Just be sure to stay on top of things to prevent them from spiraling out of control. If you're in a terrible situation, don't try quick fixes - get professional advice instead.

Picking furniture for a renovation

Are you thinking about renovating your home? Updating your furniture could be a good start and is a way to update a room quickly. You want your living area to be a place that you enjoy spending your time. The following are factors to consider when buying furniture.

Photo by Kelly Lacy from Pexels

Color matching is paramount in creating a room that looks and feels wonderful and inviting. When it comes to furniture colors can really change a room. Visiting a showroom is great to get a good perspective on different colors. A virtual visit is also a great place to start, furniture Toronto carries an impressive collection of high-end and luxurious furniture. Being realistic about colors is a must for most people but don't be afraid to play with colors and textures even if it is just adding a throw pillow or blanket.

How will you be using the furniture should be a big consideration. Is it function over form is a great thing to consider when it comes to everyday wear and tear. You want it to be comfortable, inviting, and easy to care for in my experience. Spending a little more on high-quality items will extend the life of your investment.

Think about the size of the furniture and space in your rooms. Your furniture should be able to fit in your home and leave enough space to allow free movement. You will want to measure the room and your furniture. Are piece of furniture is proportional to the room and the other things around it?

Establish a budget for your furniture upgrades. You do not want to go over budget because furniture can be relatively expensive, and you do not want to go too cheap with your choices. Prices also fluctuate so you might want to consider waiting for pieces to go on sale. Furniture made from substandard materials is the lowest price in the market. Do not go broke and consider your budget.

We hope that these tips have given you some ideas on how to pick the perfect furniture for your renovation.

Allergy Proofing Your Home

Taking simple steps to rid your home of common allergens may be the best course of action to reduce symptoms. Eliminating the root causes of the allergic reaction with regular cleaning and a handful of preventative measures often reaps tremendous results. In fact, many unsuspected factors in the home can cause significant allergic reactions, sometimes spurring sufferers to purchase expensive allergy medications instead of resolving the issue.

Photo by Binyamin Mellish from Pexels

Living Allergy Free at Home

Education is the first step towards allergy-proofing your home. Many common household items, like faucets or bedsheets, can harbor allergens. With the proper knowledge, allergic reactions in the home may be completely eliminated:

  • Remove clutter from your home, as it provides extra surfaces for dust collection.
  • Replace carpets with linoleum or hardwood flooring. If this isn’t possible, buy a HEPA-filter vacuum to use once a week and shampoo carpets frequently.
  • Think about replacing your worn or outdated windows and doors.
  • Avoid upholstered furniture if possible; instead, opt for leather or vinyl.
  • Remove heavy draperies and replace them with washable cotton curtains. Swap blinds with roller shades to reduce dust.
  • Bathe pets regularly to reduce dander.
  • Purchase a small-particle or HEPA air filter to remove airborne allergens from common traffic areas. These will also help control pet dander and mold spores. Be sure to clean the filters once monthly.
  • Store clothing and stuffed animals in plastic tote bins instead of boxes.
  • During high pollen season, run the air conditioning as much as possible and keep the windows closed.
  • Regularly wipe dust and pollen residue from all window sills.
  • Don’t allow smoking in the home.
  • Dust weekly with a wet rag.
  • Stay on top of pest infestation, as many carry common allergens (mice, cockroaches). Seal cracks and openings around the home to prevent reentry.
  • Get rid of household plants, or at least spread aquarium rocks on top of the soil to contain mold spores.
  • Keep the temperature in your home at 70F and the moisture level at 50%.

Most people suffering from respiratory allergies will notice a marked improvement just by making these simple changes, but extra measures may be necessary for year-round comfort in the home. For more in-depth allergy prevention, follow this guide room by room in your home and keep a weekly cleaning routine for specific areas.

Dust-Free Bedrooms

Follow these tips to keep dust mites from collecting in your bedroom:

  • Buy dust-mite-proof covers for pillows and mattresses.
  • Wash sheets weekly in 130F water.

Eliminating Living Room Allergens

To help keep your living room livable, stick to these rules:

  • If using upholstered furniture, clean and vacuum the fabric frequently.
  • Avoid using wood-burning fireplaces.

Killing Bathroom Mold

Often the worst place to find mold, your bathroom can be allergy-free with some basic upkeep.

  • Install a ventilation fan to reduce humidity.
  • Use mold-resistant paint or tiles on the walls.
  • Scrub mold from toilets, piping, faucets, and crevices.
  • Fix all plumbing leaks immediately.
  • Towel-dry the tub or shower after every use.
  • Dispose of body loofahs or sponges every 2-3 weeks, as they produce mold.
  • Wash bath mats weekly.

An Allergy-Free Kitchen

With food and trash in one room, it's important to make an extra effort to rid your kitchen of potential allergy triggers.
  • Use the exhaust fan on the stove to reduce moisture.
  • Scrub faucets and wash all dishes daily.
  • Keep the refrigerator clean, scrubbing away all residue to reduce mold and disposing of all spoiling food.
  • Clean the counters weekly with detergent and water.
  • Store pet food in sealed containers.
  • Keep an insect-proof lid on the trash bin and sweep up all crumbs to avoid pest infestations.

Mold & Mildew in the Basement

Dark and damp, basements are typically loaded with mold and mildew. To make the air breathable again, follow these tips:

  • Use a dehumidifier to prevent mold.
  • Use concrete, vinyl, or tile flooring in basements. (Remove all carpeting.)
  • Store everything in plastic totes; avoid keeping boxes as they will mold.
  • Vent clothes drier outdoors.

Allergy symptoms can include wheezing, sneezing, itchy eyes, rash or hives, fatigue, stomach discomfort, and headaches, making life very uncomfortable for many people year-long. Learning which allergens trigger your symptoms and eliminating those factors are the first steps toward improving your quality of life as an allergy sufferer.

Getting the most from your home appliances

I think we can all agree that one of the most significant home investments we will ever make in our homes is on appliances. Appliances are big investments that form an essential part of any house and make our life easier. When we decide to make a purchase we do hours of research to find the right one to fit our busy lifestyles. To get the most out of them, we always want to ensure that they run efficiently and effectively for a long time without any glitch or breakdown.

Photo by Curtis Adams from Pexels

When something breaks, don’t just patch it up and hope for the best, or you’ll always be patching up and spending money on repairs until they can no longer be fixed. If you want your appliances to last for longer and keep working at their best without the need for constant repairs, use trusted tradespeople like the folks at appliance repair Vancouver. A professional will analyze the problem in your appliance and they will quickly resolve it. They will also have all the essential parts and tools with them that they might need for the repair.

Since appliances are such big investments we always want to make sure they are in tip-top shape. Yearly service of appliances can help you to get more life out of them. Keeping them working at their best and ensure that they don’t let you down when you need them the most is a must. Things like checking the wiring, and hoses for cracks, tear, wear, damages, and deterioration is an easy thing to do. Maintenance can be as simple as keeping them clean and changing the filters.

Use Appliances Correctly
Make sure to the instructional manual and use appliances as intended. It is easy for us to assume we know the intended use of an appliance and toss the manual on a bookshelf. If we take time to read through it, we will come across recommended use, maintenance, care, and tips right from the manufacturer’s table. You will also find information about the warranty that you have on your item here too.

Proper use and maintenance of your appliances should extend the life items in your home. We hope you find this information helpful when it comes to getting the most from your home appliances.

Dealing With Those Big Financial Changes

There are a range of financial situations that we all go through at different times in our lives. If you are keen to make sure that you are dealing with them as well as possible when they arise, then there are many things to think about in that regard. In fact, there are many rites of passage in finances to be aware of if you want to do this better. In this post, we are going to take a look at some of the biggest and most significant, so that you can hope to learn and prepare how to deal with those better - and so improve your financial strength and standing so much more easily.

Relationship Changes

Sometimes a change in your finances comes along with a change in your relationship status. That could mean that you are getting married, or even getting divorced. It might just mean that you are moving in with someone. Whatever it is, you need to be aware of the likely alterations that are to come, so you can ensure that you are ready for it and as prepared as possible. Often, these relationship changes will mean that your finances are about to become much more stretched, so it’s best to be prepared.

The most important thing in this is to ensure that you and your partner - or ex-partner - are on the same page, which is often easier said than done. As long as you are able to communicate openly and clearly, however, this should be simple enough, and it will mean that the both of you can look after your money so much more effectively. Bear that in mind and make sure that the two of you are talking and being upfront about your financial decisions and situation at all times.

Moving Home

Another really common time when your finances go through a huge change is when you are moving home. Whether it is your first time moving home or whether it’s your fiftieth, you need to take into account all of the changes that are going to happen as a result of this process. If you are simply moving into another rented accommodation, you nonetheless need to be fully aware of what kind of rent you can expect to pay, whether there is a security deposit and so forth. That alone can be enough of a stress to have to worry about.

However, if you are buying a home, there is so much more to consider. You will likely need to get hold of a decent mortgage, which is not always straightforward or easy to do, and can take a great deal of time. It’s always worth checking out a tool like MortgageCalculator.Org to see whether you are getting a good deal, and to help prepare you for how much you are going to be paying back each month and overall. The more prepared you are for those things, the better off you will be, and the less stressful the whole experience is going to be.

But you also need to think about other costs inherent to moving home, such as the removal costs themselves. You might be thinking about upgrading or renovating your new home, or getting cleaning companies to thoroughly clean both properties, and all of that is going to cost you as well. As long as you are aware of this stuff, you can prepare for it and limit its effect on your financial life and your mental and physical wellbeing too. Just make sure you don’t overlook any of these vital things if you want to deal with them properly.

Job Change

In general, a job change is going to either mean an increase in salary or a decrease. Both of these are going to require some preparation of different kinds, although of course an increase is much more desirable. If you are about to be downgraded and start to lose money, you might want to think about re-appraising your household budget to ensure that you can still afford it. It might be that you need to do away with one or two non-essential items on your budget.

Beyond that, you should think about putting aside as much money in savings as you possibly can. That is true whether you are about to earn more or less than your current earnings. It’s always good to have money in savings, and it’s something that you should be thinking about at all times if you can. Do that, and your financial stress should disappear.

October 22, 2020

After being involved in some kind of accident, be it falling off a ladder while hanging bunting in your home, being involved in a car crash, or having an accident at work, there’s no getting away from the fact that the aftermath of an accident can have a serious impact on your life. The fact is that being involved in an accident can be somewhat difficult to get over, especially if you were hurt as a result of the accident that occurred.

The fact is that having any sort of injury can have an impact on your life in one way or another; whether it’s the fact that you’re struggling with the healing process or are struggling with your wellbeing as a result of being involved in an accident, the impact can be significant. Moving on after being involved in a serious accident can be incredibly difficult, especially when you feel like you’re unsure about how to go about doing so.

How do you get your life back on track when you’ve ended up being badly injured due to no fault of your own? What steps can you take to move your life forward? The truth is that the process of moving your life forward after being involved in an accident might not be easy but it is possible - it’s just a case of knowing what steps to take, that’s all.

Make your recovery your priority

First and foremost, your recovery should be your priority. If you want to make sure that you are able to move forward with your life, it’s essential that you make your recovery your priority. Your recovery after being involved in an accident isn’t just about your physical health, it’s also about your emotional health. The healing process after a traumatic event is about taking the time to allow both your mind and your body to heal. Don’t push yourself. Make self-care a priority. Ensure that you have all of the support that you need.

Think about your options

Once you’ve begin to heal, the next step is to start thinking about your options and what steps you want to take next. You’ve found yourself in a rubbish situation, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t make things better, it’s just a case of taking the time to think about what steps you should take to get your life back to where you want it to be. If you’ve ended up with injuries as a result of the accident that you were involved in and are unable to work as a result, then you could consider seeking the help of a personal injury attorney to make a claim against the person or company responsible for what happened to you.

Look to the future

When something bad happens to you, it’s easy to get pulled into a rut and struggle to get your life back on track. However, it’s important to take a positive approach to things and look to the future. The best way to do this is to map out an action plan of where you want your life to go over the next few weeks, months, and years.

Moving on after being involved in an accident isn’t always easy, but there are steps that you can take to help make the process a little easier.

5 USA Owned Companies To Know About

October 21, 2020

There is never a better time to start supporting USA businesses than now. Here are a few USA-based companies to know about. They are all doing amazing things and I wanted to share:

Primally Pure

Primally Pure is a United States owned beauty company. Their products consist of high-quality items such as face masks, deodorant (the best deodorant!), bath items, essential oils, room sprays, and more. They believe in clean products that yield actual results. They say, “We use nature's most precious elements to make non-toxic skincare products that support radiant skin, a healthy body + a happy self.” Sounds pretty good to me! What do you think? They also never test their beauty products on animals and that is really important to me. Check out their USA made products and your life will be forever changed!

Criterion Technology, Inc.

Continually recognized for their commitment to continuous research, advanced technology, and excellent service (along with on-time delivery, product precision, process flexibility, etc.), Criterion Technology, Inc. is a USA-based company that you absolutely have to learn more about.

So, who are they? “Criterion Technology, Inc. is the industry leader of the highest quality clear component parts molded from polycarbonate, acrylic, and an exclusive optical grade nylon. Specializing in optical injection molding, Criterion displays supreme material expertise, vast technical knowledge, a robust commitment to R&D, and optimum onsite testing. The Criterion team is a group of savvy, imaginative individuals who work together to create a welcoming environment where innovation flourishes. Criterion backs their products with 100% paid tooling maintenance. A North American partner, Criterion fortifies partnerships with design and development aptitudes, prototyping, low and high volume production, and turnkey assemblies.” Criterion recognizes the importance of utilizing technology and automation to improve product quality. Criterion’s goal is to provide customers with continuous improvements in optical performance and manufacturing processes.

Chris Mulvey, the owner and CEO of Criterion Technology, Inc. began working in the video security industry in 1982. In 1990, he was inspired to start his own company with the goal of perfecting the art and technology of creating optical enclosures for the video security industry that would be first-in-class worldwide. He is committed to staying ahead of the technology curve and to continuously meet and exceed expectations of optical performance through continuing education and training for himself and his employees to maximize their understanding and support of Criterion’s customers.

Criterion Technology Inc. provides services such as injection molding in the USA, thermoforming, turnkey assemblies, and more. They are and will continue to be “the standard by which all others are measured.”

Branch Basics

Branch Basics is a USA owned cleaning company! They don’t have conventional products that you will find in most stores, however. They say, “it (their cleaning product) cleans with only the highest quality, natural ingredients. Our multi-purpose concentrate makes cleaning simple, affordable, and sustainable.” It is non-toxic, non-GMO, fragrance free, and totally safe for sensitive skin, as well.

Lily & River

Typically, most toy companies are based out of China, or another location overseas. Lily & River, however, is based out of the United States and they are a children toy and furniture factory which produces The Little Climber (a Pikler Triangle), Sensory tables, and much more. They believe that with their toys, you can create a magical playroom, but aside from that, the reason why I love them so much is because of the fact that their products and toys are completely safe for little hands - and mouths. Let’s give you an example. Their pikler triangle is great for playtime for ages 6 months to 5 years old. It helps with self-confidence, gross motor skills, balance control, muscle growth, and it helps to expand creativity. Lily and River is family-owned and operated in Phoenix, AZ, and are committed to creating premium, intuitive environments for children worldwide.

USA Car Companies

I know that buying an overseas car sounds really appealing (if you like a specific car), but I urge you to support USA car companies such as Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Ford, Lincoln, and Tesla.

If you aren’t sure what to buy, Yahoo! Finance says, “Consumer Reports’ most recent listing of best American vehicles highlighted 13 key categories and the American-made vehicle that ranked highest in that category. According to CR, five Fords were top-rated among American vehicles, including the Ford C-Max hybrid wagon, Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta, Ford Mustang and Ford Escape. General Motors had four vehicles highly placed in their respective categories. They included the Chevrolet Malibu, Impala and Silverado truck along with the Buick Enclave. Chrysler netted three entries including the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango and Chrysler Town & Country minivan. The newcomer to the American market, Tesla, snagged the luxury car top spot with a nearly perfect score of 99.”

Now more than ever, I urge you to support USA owned businesses whenever possible. Check out companies such as Criterion Technology, Inc. to see the good work that they are doing!

6 Ways To Save Money Before Christmas

Christmas is coming up and it will be here before you know it. I always get so insanely stressed about how much money I have to spend before the holidays, so I am gearing up by finding ways to save money (and earn extra money) before the holiday rush gets here. With that being said, let’s discuss ways that I’ve found to save money before Christmas:

Find Extra Jobs

Do you have any skills that you do not currently use at your job? If so, find extra side jobs that will allow you to make extra money and use those skills. For example, if you love children and are great with babies, maybe pick up a few babysitting jobs. If you are great with graphic design, see if you can design some posters, Christmas gifts, or business signs! Small things like walking dogs, painting rooms, pressure washing (if you know how), raking leaves, etc. are also great options. Get creative with your skill set and see what friends, family members, or neighbors are interested!

Sell What You Don’t Need

Think about the influx of gifts that you will have to add to your home very shortly. To prepare, why not get rid of some things that you do not need? Go through your closet, your drawers, your garage, your attic, under your sinks, behind your couches, under your bed(s), and anywhere else where things might be hiding away. Create a pile of things that you want to keep (maybe consider organizing it while you’re at it!!), a pile of things that you want to sell, and a pile of things that you can donate. Selling your old clothes, old kid toys, and even furniture is a fantastic way to make some extra cash before the holiday shopping begins! Don’t just limit it to those things, though. You can also sell things like leaf blowers, vacuums, unused (and unopened) beauty products, air purifiers, and even jewelry, as well. Prestamos por Oro accepts gold, and other valuables in exchange for cash - or asset loans!

Get Rid Of High-Interest Debt

A great way to reduce your “what you need to pay” list is by getting rid of high-interest credit card debt. You are paying SO MUCH in interest each month. Instead of doing that, consider getting an asset loan from Prestamos por Oro instead. They are jewelry buyers in Atlanta, but also give low-interest loans! Exchange those high interest loans for a low-interest loan or sell your gold, diamonds, and other valuables to them and make the most cash possible in the same day.

Refinance Your Home

Interest rates are so low right now, so it is a great time to refinance your home! My friend just did this and is saving $200 each month -- on interest! Keep in mind that you do have to pay closing fees, but you can always roll it in. She ended up paying $3,000 in closing fees, rolled it into her loan, so it will be worth it over time, for sure. If you can do something similar, go for it!

Consider A New Car

I know this sounds counterintuitive when trying to save money, but once again, interest rates are so low right now! The same friend that refinanced her home also bought a new car and saved at least $100 each month. Plus, she ended up getting the 2020 version instead of her 2018. How wild is that? It added about $5,000 to her total car cost, but she got an upgrade, a few other things that she wanted (upgraded safety features, running boards, a bigger sunroof, etc.), but it lowered her monthly cost and it will save her in interest over time.

Make Your Own Gifts

If you have tried to figure out ways to save money before Christmas and ways to make extra bucks and you are still coming up short, consider making your own Christmas gifts. It is relatively easy to make candles, soaps, picture frames, etc. and your family and friends will love those gifts just as much!

How To Lower Your Anxiety About Going Out In Public

Experiencing anxiety related to the reopening during a pandemic is normal. This is something that most of us (if not all) have never gone through before, so we are all in new territory. Let me say it again: IT IS NORMAL TO FEEL ANXIOUS! There are ways to lower your anxiety, however, and slowly get back to normal life, once you are ready, and that is what I want to talk about today. How do you lower your anxiety about going out in public? Let’s discuss.

Wear A Mask And Bring Sanitizer

First of all, if you are nervous about catching COVID-19 or potentially giving it to someone else, learn about the safety measures that you can take while going out to protect yourself and others against COVID. It is important to learn about what you can do, but also finding out the health and safety measures that your city or businesses are doing to protect their people/customers is important, as well. Two easy steps that you can take to protect yourself and others? Wear a mask and bring sanitizer! Make sure your sanitizer is alcohol-based and preferably, it does not have artificial fragrance in it (that lowers your immune system!).

Stick To Outdoor Spaces

When you are first getting out, it can help your anxiety levels significantly if you stick to outdoor spaces. If you want to go to a restaurant, find a place with a nice, spacious patio. Alternatively, you could order to-go food and have a picnic yourself in a park! Not only would you get to enjoy food that you didn’t make, but you would more than likely have a beautiful setting, as well. Kennesaw Mountain, Piedmont Park, and The Marietta Square are all great options for an outdoor picnic.

Follow Your Feelings

Just because other people are starting to go out and your city is beginning (or already) to reopen does not mean that you should feel ready to get back to life before COVID right away. Make decisions based on how you personally feel and based on your health risks, as well. If you choose to be more cautious because you’re part of a high-risk grou

p, or for any other reason at all, it’s more than okay to wait to see how reopening goes before resuming activities in public.

Up Your Immune Health

Last but not least, up your immune health. There are many ways to do this and nothing is “right” or “wrong,” but I personally love upping my Vitamin D (with K2) -- Seeking Health is a great option, whole food Vitamin C (like camu camu), and getting outside more. Don’t forget to also take a vitamin and drink a lot of water + consume healthy foods. Elderberry syrup, such as Sweet’s, is also a great option! My friend, Alex, has a whole post on the benefits of elderberry syrup which was really interesting & I’ve started to take it because of that.

Experiencing anxiety related to reopening during COVID-19 is normal. It’s possible to overcome your anxiety by focusing on the facts, following your feelings, understanding the risks, and learning about safety measures. Keep an eye out for signs that you or your loved ones may be having trouble coping, and seek help from a mental health professional if necessary.
