Heavy Weekend? Here's How To Get Back On Track

 Many of us will have been in this position before. Where you burn the candle at both ends. We can all push ourselves when it comes to work, enjoy times with our families, restaurants etc, and feel like we are not giving ourselves enough of a break. The weekend is the prime time for when this happens the most. Even if it is just staying at home doing household chores we can feel shattered come Sunday evening and wonder how we can muster up the energy for Monday morning. Now more than ever life seems to be tougher than normal. Staying at home is the new going out, but yet by doing so, we can lose motivation and energy. A heavy weekend busy, or a heavy weekend eating too much comfort food and drinking too much. Whatever it is for you, we all need to be able to get back on track to start the week as we mean to go on. With that in mind, here are some of the things that you can try.

Try and get to bed at a decent time on Sunday

This may not always be possible, but if you can, head to bed as early as you can on Sunday evening. This will allow your body some time to recuperate and relax with a good amount of sleep. You may not have given your body much chance for sleep during your weekend antics or perhaps you have been too anxious and had broken sleep. A great tip would be to focus on making Sunday evening a relaxing one. A nice bath, some time away from technology, reading a book and enjoying a warm up caffeinated drink. An early night can work wonders and help you feel recharged. You don’t even have to do this specifically on a Sunday. Any evening you feel like things are catching up with you, change things around and focus on relaxing and getting some sleep. 

Avoid eating too late

Eating too late in an evening can cause more problems for you during the night and the morning after. So on a Sunday afternoon make a conscious effort to eat as early as you can. Don’t be too tempted to fill your body with unhealthy foods and junk. This will only have a bad effect on how you feel come Monday morning. A good example would be to try and eat some of the main food groups. So a balanced meal of protein, vitamins and healthy carbohydrates would be the way to go. Perhaps something like chicken and vegetables. 

Give yourself a boost on a Monday morning

There is nothing worse than those stinging eyes on a Monday morning when your alarm is buzzing in the background. But alas most of us have places to be so you have no choice but to force your body out of bed. However, you can always give your body a little energy boost. Plan your week at your earliest convenience

Getting on track can be all in the planning. If you work out your week with any appointments and errands and plan, then you are already halfway there for being on track. There is no chance of losing precious time if you already know where you need to be and what you need to do. Planning can be done in all aspects of your life. You can sit down and meal plan for the week ahead, write a list of all the things that need to be done, and even create a cleaning schedule so you can keep on top of your home. The more you plan, the better you will feel. 

Try and be as organised as possible 

If you know you have had a heavy weekend or you have a busy week ahead, then help yourself out by being super organised. This means you could plan your outfits in advance, make your lunch the night before, and set out all of the things you might need for the following day ahead of time. There is plenty that you can do to help yourself. So do it.
