Honduras Chocolate Company

February 11, 2017

I have always had a love affair with dark chocolate. There has just always been something about it. It's always been serious chocolate and has a flavor that other chocolate lacks. So, I'm sure you can understand how thrilled I was when I reached out to Honduras Chocolate Company for Valentine's and they said....YES! There are countless good things I can say about this company and I'm not just talking about the quaily of the chocolate. All of the chocolate is made from organically-grown, single-origin cacao. The cacao is grown and manufactured in the rainforest of Honduras. The Honduras Chocolate Company provides a sustainable economic solution, ensuring a brighter future and a stronger economic outlook...one chocolate bar at a time. So, what does all this mean? It's chocolate and a company with a heart. They care about the people that are producing the cacao and the land that it's grown on. The cacao is grown by an exclusive network of Honduran farmers. Honduras Chocolate Company knows each of these farmers and their family by name. They also invest in these farmers and the communities and pay higher-than-fair-trade prices plus provide access to training, agricultural resources and micro-loans to the farmers. They do all this so that their farmers can not only better provide for their families but can also invest in their farms. As a result, the cacao they produce is of a superior quality. A company that cares about the little people is rare these days, we applaud them for putting the people about the all mighty dollar and trying to make this world a better place.
All of the chocolate products are gluten-free, dairy-free, non-GMO and manufactured in a nut and soy free facility. WOW....looks like they have all the bases covered. This means that more people can enjoy these products. That's a win for all the people that have food allergy issues or for someone like me that just likes the fact that everyone can enjoy the art of dark chocolate. Gosh, could you imagine being able to tour the facility? It must smell like pure nirvana...they really should bottle that and make it an air freshener. The chocolate is made in small batches using the perfect blend of beans from each farm. This gives the chocolate bars a complex and rich flavor profile. It truly is a love story from start to finish. And we get to enjoy the fruits of this labor of love. It was a cool experience to be able to try each of these bars. You can taste the variations in the amount of cacao each bar contains. Honduras Chocolate Company would like to share the love they celebrate with making 1 lucky reader a winner. 1 reader will win 4 bars, a $25 value.
